Dick L. Coffman,
AFM, ARA
Dick Coffman, owner and president of Coffman Farm Agency, was raised
on a farm in central Nebraska. He graduated with honors from the
University of Nebraska with a Bachelors degree in agricultural economics.
He also earned a Master's degree with honors in agricultural economics
from Iowa State University.
Dick was a farm manager and rural appraiser with First National
Bank in Sioux City for eight years before opening Coffman Farm Agency
in 1983. In 1981, he earned the designation of Accredited Farm Manager
(AFM) from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
This title is granted only to those members who have displayed exceptional
farm management ability and integrity, have passed rigid written
and oral examinations, and abide by the society's code of ethics.
In 1990, Dick earned the designation of Accredited Rural Appraiser
(ARA) from the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers.
Like the AFM, this title requires extensive education, preparation
of a demonstration appraisal, and passage of written and oral examinations.
Dick is a licensed real state broker in Iowa, Nebraska, South Dakota,
and Minnesota. He is also a Certified General Real Property Appraiser.
In 2000, Dick purchased Hatfield Farm Management Company from T.
Wayne Tilton and moved his office from Hinton to Sioux City. Hatfield
Farm Management Company (formerly Gilman Agency) has been located
in Sioux City since 1875. |
